Jurisdiction of filing a Mat Suit(divorce case)where the couple live in two different places:

Every Mat Suit petition under the Act shall be filed with the District Court( family courts) within the local limits:

Every case under the H.M.Act, filed with the District Court (Family Court)within the local limits where

• The Marriage was solemnized, or

• The respondent resides, or

• The parties last resided together, or

• where the wife is residing on the date of presentation of the suit.

Where the Respondent living separately within the territory of the Act:

The husband can file the case in any three of the following District Court within the local limits where:

• The Marriage was solemnized, or

• The Respondent resides, or

• The parties last resided together.

Where the Respondent living separately outside the territory of the Act

The husband can file the case regarding the same before the district court where he resides.
